Tiny Studio Apartment

This is the interior of the tiny studio apartment which I did up for a friend...the kitchen and bathroom are separate and have been uploaded separately. I had earlier made a larger version of this room but as it turned out, I was working with the wrong dimensions! ;)...Anyway, these are correct dimensions...all of 9' x 13'. I made the murphy bed (uploaded separately) especially for this room... other pieces of furniture have been kept to the simplest, barest minimum due to the lack of space.

A Tiny Studio Home

This is a tiny house with a mere 15' X 15' room which should house the living and dining spaces and the bedroom too (as shown). The kitchen and bath are separate (thank God for that!). The complete house is only 315 square feet. It belongs to a couple who has just started a family and are bound to have frequent visitors who end up staying for dinner, so clutter is inevitable. I have tried to liven up the space with paintings and lights. The couple is quite spiritual but with a modern outlook...I have used an abstract painting of Lord Ganesha (the elephant headed Hindu God) to highlight that.

A solarium is attached to the living room for an out-doors feel. With the idea of locating this house in Kerala (God's Own Country) in India, the house has been provided with large window walls so that the awesome natural beauty of Kerala is always within sight.

The Final House (The shell at least). (The floors are on different layers... you can look in) I have included the image of the interiors though. The complete model is a whopping 71 MB The house is based on tradition Kerala (South India) architecture - the sloping gabled roofs and the small wood spires are an integral part of traditional Kerala Architecture. The double pillars are a modern addition and of course traditionally teak wood would have been used instead of brick and concrete.

The middle section can have a frosted glass partition to make it more private (I haven't made this partition in the model).
